"I'm 29 years old and a health and fitness enthusiast. Unfortunately in a multi terrain running race I fell awkwardly and suffered ligament damage to my ankle and an evulsion fracture to my tibia. This was particularly frustrating as I'm a competitive club runner and represent the County in Cross Country running. I've now got to stage that after 2 months of swimming and mobility work I'm running again but as a result of not running for a while it has taken a lot out of my body as I've started to resume training.
I was keen to gain further advice and contacted Sophie to discuss supplementary training I can do to support my rehabilitation. Sophie assessed the mobility in my ankle joint and looked in great detail at the way I stood, moved and the alignment of my joints/muscular imbalances. Sophie has prescribed a series of exercises using a foam roller and a massage ball as well as demonstrating how to do these exercises.
As well as looking at how I can aid my recovery through corrective exercise training, Sophie also discussed my diet with me and made recommendations as to changes I can make to support my recovery. After being highly frustrated after my injury I was pleased that I have practical solutions to support my rehabilitation and I felt energised that I could improve my training to allow me to start racing again.
