You'll notice when we meet that my passion is exercise, sport and generally being active. I love testing myself and learning more about what my body is capable of achieving (much to the despair of my long suffering husband)! I honestly believe that being physically active is the route of great happiness, and this is what makes exercise so attractive.
This hasn't always been the case though. Ten years ago you'd have found me sitting stationary at a desk, in an office, working exceptionally long hours for the benefit of shareholders I'd never meet. I barely did any exercise and my spare time was spent trying to unwind from a long week by eating and drinking with friends and family.
It wasn't until I was persuaded by a persistent colleague to get involved in a game of netball that I realised what I'd been missing out on. After nearly a year of nagging, I finally gave in and went along to reluctantly take part in the game. Despite my reservations and my fear of humiliating myself, I found myself hooked almost instantly. Suddenly something had changed. I was transported back to being a teenager at school and I remembered what it was like to be physically active again.
Rediscovering exercise was a huge turning point.
Since this time it has been my personal mission to engage and involve others in returning to sport or gaining the confidence to become active once again. Honestly, I can't tell you how much fun being active is and there's no better time than today to make changes that will leave you smiling forever.
The stumbling block came when I fell pregnant with my son. Suddenly I found myself heavier and bigger than I'd ever been before and, with a newborn child being my 24 hour focus, I had neither the time nor the ability to engage in any activity other than walking the pushchair around the neighbourhood whilst trying to get my child to sleep.
At that time I would have loved to have found someone to help me to get out of that hole.
From this came a quiet epiphany; a small transformation took place. I made the decision to change my life. I chose to leave my sedentary office life and instead I went to work in Sport. Now surrounded by people who were active, passionate and enlivened by their personal sporting achivements I was spurred on to lose the weight and become more active. It was then that I became aware of the huge opportunities that are out there for adults to become involved in and it became obvious to me that the variety of activity available to us shouldn't just be a privilege offered to children who are in school.
In my bid to share my new found love of activity, I gained my Coaching qualifications and started working with adults who had fallen out of love with sport, bringing them back into a non threatening, friendly environment where they could happily engage in activity which didn't result in them feeling out of place.
Through Personal Training and working with Clients of all ages, I quickly learned that for many of us the aches and pains of daily living prevent us from fully enjoying the active lifestyle we'd like. I strongly believe that growing older need not be painful and that helping people to move better quickly has fast become a passion.
Since then, I've honestly not looked back.
For me, there is no better reward than seeing someone achieve their aspirations, move better or enjoy their life pain free and this underpins everything about me.
You are an incredible person and I can show you how to make positive changes to your life that will result in you achieving the best possible version of you, and maintaining it.
It won't require you to give up all the things you love. It won't necessitate you joining a gym if it's not your thing. But it will be fun. I promise you that I will help you to laugh and smile your way to a new you and together we'll love every second of it.
You don't need to be super fit or super focussed. You just need to make the decision to be happy and healthy in the skin you're in.

I now hold the following qualifications: Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy, Kinesiology Taping and Functional Taping for Sport, NASM Corrective Exercise (CES), Level 3 Personal Trainer Certificate, Level 3 Pre and Postnatal Exercise Prescription, Level 2 Netball Coach, England Athletics Leader in Running Fitness Licence, Level 2 in Circuit Training as well as being a qualified Nutrition Coach and Sports Tutor.
